Position Description - Assistant Artistic Director
This position will commence in the semester following a successful application.
We anticipate this will be an on-going position, subject to a formal review at the end of 12 months.

Expectations
The Assistant Artistic Director will:
- have experience in choral conducting
- be a trained singer
- be experienced in rehearsal organisation
- have experience in high performance standards
- sing in the choir in performance
- work within the team of choral administration that includes the Artistic Director, Choir Leader, Section Leaders and Accompanists
- be able to take a 2-hour rehearsal (as required)
Recognised Teacher Training would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Artistic Director will:
- deputise for the Artistic Director in rehearsals (when required)
- support the Artistic Director in preparation of repertoire, auditions, and other duties as required
- begin rehearsals with warm up exercises and sight singing (when required)
- support the choral program throughout the year
- develop a good rapport with the choristers
- be able to maintain good humour while working under pressure
